  • VP4/2-based RV Typing
    1. VP4/VP2 sequences are predictive of HRV species and type and can be used for type identification in epidemiological studies.
    2. Due to the inherent limitations of the VP4/2 region in RV typing, we recommend using the VP4/2-based RV Typing as a predictive tool or as a supplementary method to VP1-based typing results. When VP1 sequences are available, we strongly advocate for the prioritization of VP1-based RV Typing.
    3. Since the RVC58 currently lacks available VP4/2 sequence, we recommend conducting a comprehensive assessment when typing RVC specie, incorporating the results of VP1-based RV typing.

Important note:
1.In order to ensure the correctness of the results, please ensure that the sequence you upload is a VP4/2 sequence. If you are not sure, please annotate or BLAST the sequence first.
2.Please confirm the completeness of the VP4/2 sequence and ensure that the sequence completeness is greater than 90%. RVdb thinks that sequence less than 370nt or greater than 450nt will not be able to be typed.
